Please care for your bean-like organ - KIDNEYS!! I learnt about the dietary intervention and management for renal failure last week and was overwhelmed by the many "don't"s and restrictions.. I was like, "Man, is there life after renal complication?" You can't eat many things yet your body still requires nourishment, so it is really really tricky..
My lecturer said, "if you could handle a renal patient, you can handle all patients" [dietary concerns lar].. and now I aim to study real HARD on renal topics, so it means others will seem easier.
I really couldn't imagine a life of a renal patient that needs dialysis. Sad man..
Please.. care for your kidneys:
(1) Drink sufficient water (8 glasses/day)
(2) Minimize smoking and alcohol
(3) Minimize intakes of processed food
(4) Exercise, for overall health maintenance
Really, as cliche as it sounds - don't take your health for granted.
