奶油麦香虾

I tried something new for this year's reunion dinner - 奶油麦香虾 (Butter Prawn)..
Found the recipe from a book and it was simple enough :)


For a 500g prawns:
5 tbsp fried oats ~ I used nestum without frying prior use
6 chili padi (chopped) ~ used only 4 and it was already very hot
3 springs curry leaves ~ didn’t manage to buy
2 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp tapioca flour ~ used 4-5 tbsp
1/2 tsp salt ~ replaced with 1 tbsp cheese spread
2/3 tsp sugar


1) Trim prawns. Add tapioca starch and mix.

2) Heat up a pot of oil, deep-fry prawns till golden brown. Remove and set aside.
3) Heat up margarine in pot, fry chili padi and curry leaves till fragrant.

4) Add in prawns and seasonings, lastly add in fried oats and stir evenly. Serve.
