I had alot of mooncakes lately.. FREE mooncakes, of course, it's so expensive nowadays to get a one. A decent nice mooncake could easily cost above RM10 for one! Thank GOD my sister's office received plenty of luxury mooncakes from clients. To date, I had savour those of Mandarin Oriental's, Hilton's, Shangri-La's etc.. yummy.. never really liked mooncakes much until low sugar mooncake is invented! Bravo to health-conscious chefs!!
OK, let me do some thing that I should here.. do you know how much calories and refined sugar there are in a single mooncake?? I won't mention figures here but averagely one mooncake gives you as much energy as your full-satiety dinner, but unlike your normal dinner with complex carb. Diabetes individual who had bad glucose control or those with high TG level (another word: high fat in blood), please refrain from mooncake. Alright, a short paragraph on this would do, don't wanna spoil the mood for the festival..
I had a Mid-Autumn dinner liao!! with my KK frens residing in KL- Jeffery, Goldwin, Wendy and Hui Fen last Sat and had mooncakes too, coz we were far from home, so this would make that up :)
I don't get to light a lantern this year, but I'm 'litted' up (emotionally) anyhow. Oh yea, if you haven't been informed, this year "zhong chiu" falls on 25th Sept, Tues. If you're abroad, do call home :) Wishing you a blessed time with family, loved ones and friends during this mooncake season!
